What is Pilates?


If you're wanting to strengthen your core, and tone your whole body, this is the class for you! Improve spinal health, prevent injury, and build stability throughout your entire body. 


Is Pilates boring?


Pilates at our studio is much like our other classes, choreographed to music so that you are motivated, inspired and enjoying every second of the class. At Body Barre Air, we use plenty of props and equipment to keep you on your toes & spice up our classes so that you are constantly feeling challenged and trying something new!


What are the benefits of Pilates?


  • Connecting with your body through targeted movements and control, creating greater body awareness
  • Strengthening pelvic floor (super important for post-natal mamas)
  • Low impact exercise is kind on joints, but Pilates is very effective for muscles
  • Improves strength, flexibility, coordination and endurance
  • Super charge your core to help prevent back pain and improve posture



What’s the difference between Mat Pilates and Reformer Pilates?


In Pilates we love using lots of props such as Pilates balls, hand weights, weighted balls, bands, magic circles, yoga bricks and ankle weights. However if you are wanting to try Pilates with the reformer beds, we have that for you too! Look for ‘Reformer Classes’ on our schedule.
