WHAT'S SO GREAT ABOUT BARRE ?

Barre has been commonly referred to as the fastest way to change your body shape, and that doesn’t surprise us in the slightest!


Inspired by the targeted movements of ballet, Barre will leave you feeling stretched and strengthened (and a little sore) in the best possible way. 


Build strength across the entire body, and push yourself a little further, with support from the barre and some extra props to get your heart racing. We fuse the best elements of ballet, pilates, and dynamic flexibility for a truly unique and fun experience. 


Smaller, slower, precise movements isolate muscle groups to give you all the challenge you’ll find in a gym class, but without the painful side effects of high-impact exercise. This means that our classes are low impact, tough on muscles, but kind on joints! A workout you can do at any age, and with low risk of injury.


You don’t need to have a dancing bone in your body or prior knowledge to join a barre class, and you don't even have to be familiar with the ballet barre. Roughly half the class will be standing, using the ballet barre for support, then you will be moved to the mat for core work. Some classes also use additional props (balls, therabands and light hand weights) which will all be provided for you. Just make sure to bring your own mat if you have one!



It’s okay to feel a little out of your depth in your first class, the movements can take a bit of getting used to! That’s where our wonderful instructors come in. If you’re ever feeling lost, or like a movement doesn’t feel right for you, let them know and they’ll walk you through how to move with confidence.  It usually takes a few classes to get the hang of what’s coming up next and to get in the groove of things, and we’ve all been there - shaky legs and all! Your instructor is there to help you and will give you options if you need, or correct your technique to make sure you are getting a safe & challenging workout, we’re here to champion your needs every step of the way!
