They use eco friendly fabrics, which are created through a process called sublimation printing. Sublimation textile printing is the sustainable alternative to traditional print, steam, and wash processes. The direct-to-textile sublimation printing technology essentially eliminates all the toxic chemical processes associated with conventional screen-printing operations. The only waste product is the used transfer paper which is recyclable!
Thus 'green' chemistry contains no formaldehyde, halogenated flame-retardants, vinyl plasticizers, or any other toxic chemicals such as heavy metals, carcinogens, or volatile organic compounds. The result is cleaner water and less energy use. Sublimation printing is sustainable, environmentally conscious alternative for manufacturing custom printed textiles.
Onzie as a brand also supports the local economy. All parts of our process including knitting, dyeing, cutting, sewing, photography, marketing, distribution and design all happen in the company's facilities. Being local minimises our carbon footprint and allows us to produce small runs of high quality product!
